Top Ten Tuesday: Popular Books that Lived Up to the Hype

.

Finally back again with another Top Ten Tuesday post! I rarely do this tag on my blog, because most of the time it's quite difficult for me to pick 10 books for certain topics 😂. But this week I decided to do it because the topic is Popular Books that Lived Up to the Hype. I've read a lot of hyped books in the past. I guess because I'm always intrigued whenever a book gets a lot of attention and positive reviews. At first I was quite confused where I should begin but I found this shelf on Goodreads called 'Popular Hyped Books' and decided to choose from the books on that list. I can probably list more than ten, but these are some that came to mind first. Here are the books in no particular order 😎.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green | Book Review
First one on this list is the first John Green book I've ever read. This book made me fell in love with Augustus Waters and breaks my heart into a million pieces. I think I read this book when the hype was already over 😂, but it was hyped nonetheless. I definitely do not regret picking it up because I adore this story so much 💖 Although my expectations were high, The Fault in Our Stars totally lived up to it.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak | Book Review
I don't know if I shoud say this book is hyped, but it's on that hyped list on Goodreads and I really love this book 😂. The Book Thief  is one out of several historical fiction that I love and hold dear until now. The story really touched and warmed my heart 💖.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas |
This is one of my favorite books from 2017, but unfortunately I missed the chance to write a full review on it. There's a lot of hype surrounding this book, starting from Booktube to Goodreads, and I'm intrigued. I definitely did not regret joining the hype because this book is amazing. I love the characters and the topic is very relatable to our present day situation. Highly recommend this book 😊.
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli | Book Review
I rarely read LGBT books but this one definitely got my attention when it was published. I think I first heard about it from Booktube and a lot of people raved about it. So I decided to read it, and oh my gosh, this book is too adorable! 😆 It's so cute and it made me giggle a lot as I was reading. You can check out my full review to read my opinion about it.

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Next on the list is probably one of the most hyped series ever! 😂 To be honest, I was quite late when I joined in the hype—I started reading this series when the second or third movie came out. I have to say, this series is indeed amazing. I stayed up all night to finish the sixth book and was not able to put the seventh book down. It was THAT good.
The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan | Book Review #1 | #2 | #3 | #4 | #5
I think this series was really hyped up because a lot of people loved Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series. I actually joined in pretty late because I waited until all the books in the series came out before I started reading it. My best friend actually read it first and raved about it all the time, so I started reading with a high expectation. But this series really lived up to that hype! I absolutely love this series from start to finish and completely immersed myself in this adventurous world. I have a review for every single book in the series, so you can check that out in the links above 😊.

Wonder by R.J. Palacio | Book Review
My review for this book begins with "I'm really glad because this book really lives up to the hype surrounding it, because my expectation was very high when I started."😂😂 That just shows how hyped this book was when I read it. A lot of my Goodreads friends write positive reviews for this book and I was intrigued. And I definitely did not regret joining the hype. To this day, Wonder is still one of my favorite books of all time and I still recommend it to people. It's a heartwarming read that made me cry happy tears.
Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu | Book Review #1 | #2 | #3
This is another series that I really love from start to finish; it just gradually gets better and better. I heard a lot about this series from Booktube and decided to try it out even though I've never read any book by Marie Lu before. I was quite skeptical at first because I had a hard time getting into the first book. But as I've said, it gets better and better towards the end. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! It was such an intense read 😆.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn | Book Review
Who doesn't know about this book? The hype was crazy back then and it pushed me to read it myself even though I'm not a big fan of thriller books. This is another back that was quite hard for me to get into at first, but at a certain point in the book, I was blown away. That's why even though I didn't manage to love this book right from the beginning, I gave it a 5-star rating because I still kept thinking about this book days after I finished reading it.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins | Book Review
The last book is probably the pioneer in starting the dystopia trend after the vampire trend ended 😂. However, I only included the first book on this list because it's my favorite one in the series. This book kept me up all night reading and that ending was so epic! And this book introduced me to Peeta Mellark, one of my favorite book boyfriends ever 💖.

Those are the books that I chose for this week's topic! I had so much fun reminiscing all the amazing and hyped books over the past few years. What are some of your favorite hyped books? Feel free to share your thoughts or even share your Top Ten Tuesday post in the comments below. I'll be happy to check them out. 😉

  2. I limited my list to books from the last five years, but Legend is my favorite book series and I loved the Hunger Games enough to read it in both English and Spanish.
