Oh my gosh, we're already entering the sixth month of 2018 😱 Isn't it crazy how time flies so fast? May was quite a busy month for me because there are a lot of events and I also went on a trip to Papua for several days. Despite my busy schedule, I still managed to get myself several new books 😆. In May, I bought 1 English book, 2 Indonesian books, 2 Bible study books, and several ebooks which I'll share the details with you in this post. I finished and reviewed one book from this pile, so I feel quite happy about that. Now let's talk about the books! 😊
Pulang by Tere Liye | Book Review
I spotted this book when I went to the bookstore this month and decided to buy it out of impulse (because the blurb on the back cover doesn't really explain what the story is about 🤔). Turns out, it is a sequel to another book Tere Liye that I've read and reviewed (Pulang). I finished reading and have posted my full review on this book. The Trials of Apollo: The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan
Finally the third book is out! I can't read it yet though because of my habit of waiting until the series is completely published and then I marathon them from start to finish. I heard a lot of great things about this series and I've always loved Rick Riordan's writing. Can't wait until I get start reading them all! 😆
#DearTomorrow: Notes to My Future Self by Maudy Ayunda
This was quite an impulsive buy when I went to the bookstore 😂. I found out about this book from an Instagram story post from someone who's a big fan of Maudy Ayunda. I heard this book is visually pleasing and it's a short and beautiful book to read. So when I saw it on display at the bookstore, I decided to bring it home with me. 😌
Nehemiah Study Book | She Reads Truth
1 & 2 Corinthians Study Book | She Reads Truth
This month I acquired two study books from She Reads Truth. I'm really excited to start reading the study book on 1 & 2 Corinthians. As usual, these study books are always so beautifully designed. 😍
E-BOOK HAUL |
Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
I recently become increasingly interested in Norse mythology—no, not because of Thor the superhero 🙄—after seeing the gameplay of God of War 4. 😂 Basically the game was set around Norse mythology and I was intrigued. Soon after, I saw this book on Goodreads and decided to get the ebook. I've only read one book by Neil Gaiman so far (and it's a pretty weird one), but I have high hopes for this one.
Cold-Case Christianity by J. Warner Wallace
Few weeks ago I attended an apologetic seminar at my church and the speaker recommended this book which really intrigued me. It's about the gospel from the perspective of a homicide detective. I'm looking forward to reading this one very soon!
Crucial Questions series by R.C. Sproul
The last one is a series of ebooks written by R.C. Sproul, called the Crucial Questions series. It consists of 28 books that tackles the basic and important questions about Christianity. I really admire R.C. Sproul and am looking forward to start reading these. Each book is quite short, around 100 pages each, so it shouldn't take too long to read them. 🤓
That's all for this month's haul! I actually have several more books that I got in May, but I'm going to share it in a separate post because it's a special unboxing 😄. As usual, if you have any new book recommendations for me, feel free to share it in
the comments below! See you in the next one! 😉
