It's been a long time since I post something book-tag related, and since I haven't got any book reviews done yet, I thought I'd do this tag that I've seen around for quite a while. I discovered this tag through some of BBI members; the first one I read was from Blog Buku Haremi and it's an interesting post to make. There are 8 book-related questions which I will answer with the corresponding books of my choice. I will also include my book review links and you can read them by clicking the book title if you're interested. So here are my answers! :)
1. Find a book for each of your initials.
My initals are S.S; the first book that I picked is Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, one of my favorite reads from 2015 because it's so cute and fluffy. The next one is Son by Lois Lowry, the fourth and final book in The Giver Quartet. It's definitely a great ending to a beautiful series.
2. Count your age along your bookshelf: What book is it?
I counted my age number along my bookshelf and stopped at this book: The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. I'm reminded again of how much I really want to start this series but haven't got around to it. Maybe this year? (I said the same thing last year, but hopefully history won't repeat itself.)
3. Pick a book set in your city/state/country
I very rarely find books that's set in my city, so that's why I really want to include these two books in this tag. Misteri Rumah Kosong by Glenn Alexei is set in my hometown, Surabaya. The haunted house that's part of the story is actually in an area near my apartment. And the main character of Sayap-Sayap Kecil by Andry Setiawan was born in the same province as I do: East Java, Indonesia :D
4. Pick a book that represents a destination you would like to travel to.
When I read this book, Berlabuh di Lindøya by Kusumastuti Fischer, I was drawn by the setting that took place in Lindoya—a small island located in Oslo. What I love about this place is how quiet and peaceful this place seems. Might be the perfect escape for an introvert like me who appreciates solitude :)
5. Pick a book that is your favorite color.
This cover represents my favorite color, which is various shades of bluish green. There's pastel green, tosca, turquoise, and even grayish blue. I just love all the colors in this book cover <3
6. Which book do you have the fondest memory of?
I have fond memories for a lot of books, but I will choose my most recent favorite book, Wonder by R.J. Palacio because the story just warms my heart and even made me cry happy tears. It's an emotional roller-coaster that taught me a thing or two about life and being a better person. I think this book will stay in my heart for a very long time.
7. Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?
For this question, I chose Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift, because I went into this book expecting it to be fun and exciting just like the movie. Unfortunately, I ended up having a difficult time going through it because the narration lacked dialogue and the plot was pretty slow-paced as well. I ended up not finishing this book, which I rarely do.
8. Which book in your TBR pile will give you the biggest sense of achievement?
For this question, of course it's none other than The Song of Ice and Fire Series. I've read the first two books so far: A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin. These two books are almost 1000 pages each and took me about a month to read them. I'm planning on reading the third book this year (I read the first one in 2014 and the second in 2015), so hopefully I'll be able to do that :) Maybe if I read a book each year, the next book in the series will be published when I'm finally caught up with it :D
And that's it for this post—I hope that was interesting enough to read because I'm running out of blog post ideas these days. I wasn't tagged by anyone to do this, so if you're interested feel free to make this post too! If you do, don't forget to include the link in the comments below so I can check it out ;) Okay, bye now!
