Hello again in another episode of Top 5 Wednesday ! Today's topic is to choose Top 5 Female Characters; which is pretty exciting, even though I think I don't have that much memorable female characters from books I've read. Probably because I usually focused a lot more on my favorite male characters rather than the females ㅋㅋ. But I'll do my best to choose my favorite female characters from books that I've already read ;)) Here's the list in no particular order.
Hermoine Granger (Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling)
My first choice goes to Hermione from the Harry Potter series. Not only because she's an extremely smart student in Hogwarts, but also because she became a witch despite her Muggle parents who are dentists. She's a brave character; Hermione called Voldemort by name when everyone else addresses him as You-Know-Who. Hermione also saved both Harry and Ron in various situations. And I think she's an awesome female character, just because she can do magic :)))
Next one on this list is Katniss. My reason will probably be obvious; it's because she volunteered for her younger sister, and actually wins The Hunger Games. No doubt Katniss is a kick-ass character who knows how to shoot arrows accurately. Katniss is indeed a very strong female character whom I really admire.
Liesel Meminger (The Book Thief by Markus Zusak)
The Book Thief always overflows me with feels just thinking about the characters, and Liesel is one of them. She started off as a girl who couldn't read; and her desire to read a book made her learn the alphabets and devour on any books she could find. The best thing that she did was stealing a book that she wasn't supposed to - just because of her desire to read more. I absolutely adores any character who likes to read.
Eleanor Douglas (Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell)
I chose this character because she's a different kind of female character compared to the other female characters in YA books. Eleanor comes from a broken family who lives in a wrecked place, she's not the most beautiful person, and she wears weird clothes. However, I really adore how Rainbow Rowell chose to have a character like Eleanor because she seems realistic and relatable.
Lady Éowyn (The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien)
My last choice is another kick-ass female character from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Éowyn. When she killed The Witch King and said 'I am no man', I totally had goosebumps - because the way she said it was like she challenged The Witch King. It was one of my favorite scenes ever in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Éowyn might be extremely beautiful and ladylike when she's in the castle; but she puts all that aside when it comes to war.
★★★★★★★★★
So those are my choices for the Top Female Characters :) Do you have other favorite female characters in mind? If you do, you can share in the comments below ;) Next week's topic is to choose Top 5 Books that You Weren't Expecting to Like but Did. Phew, that was a long one. I might have to think harder for this one. Okay, see you next week ! Bye!
