The 3-day #BCIDREADATHON is finally over last night ! Phew. Even though my reading progress might not be much, this is a LOT of reading compared to how I usually read. On normal days, I usually only read at night (or midnight, most of the time); because I can't seem to find time to read during the day and have a lot of things to do in the evening. So I'm actually pretty satisfied with my achievement in this readathon. Without further delay, here's my report for #BCIDREADATHON ♥
✮ Day 1 (18 July 2014) : ✮
The Giver (The Giver Quartet, #1) by Lois Lowry
Page count: 151 pages
I was about 30 pages into this book already when the readathon started, so I set a goal to finish this book on the first day. I read in the afternoon for a bit and continued again very late at night because I had to accompany my brother to the dentist (I also read a few pages while I wait). I ended up finishing the book around midnight, and I feel so accomplished! YAY!
✮ Day 2 (19 July 2014) : ✮
Gathering Blue (The Giver Quartet, #2) by Lois Lowry
Page count: 92 pages
On the second day, I was at home a lot to enjoy my weekend - and I don't have any plans, so I was hoping to get a lot of reading done. Though unfortunately, the urge to watch an episode of K-drama is stronger than the urge to read. ㅠㅠ It's a shame I can't read and watch dramas at the same time. At the end of the day, I only did bits of reading - again, mostly at night when I'm about to sleep. And Gathering Blue wasn't as interesting as The Giver; the start felt a bit dragging for me. Will talk more about it in my review :) At least I got almost half-way through the book :))
✮ Day 3 (20 July 2014) : ✮Gathering Blue (The Giver Quartet, #2) by Lois Lowry
Page count: 133 pages
Messenger (The Giver Quartet, #3) by Lois Lowry
Page count: 93 pages
The last day! I think I'm most productive in the third day; firstly because it's Sunday and secondly, I had to wait for my Mother while she's at the hair salon - which means reading time! I was sitting at a cafe for about 3 hours and managed to finish Gathering Blue (which got better after I got through 100-pages), and then I also got half-way through the next book, Messenger - which is amazing so far. Looking forward to finishing it soon :))
✮ Total Page Count: 469 pages
Books Completed: 2.5
Like I said in my previous post, I challenged myself to: #1: Read a book that is written in another language and #3: Read an e-book - which of course I accomplished! I read all three books using my Kindle Paperwhite in e-book form, and I'm definitely starting to love my Kindle a lot more. It's very convenient to read - especially in bed when I'm about to sleep. I've read more than 5 e-books using my Kindle now; so look forward to my post sharing about my Kindle experience - the joy of using it and what I missed from paperbacks ;))
Lastly, I'd like to say how much I enjoy this readathon because somehow it made me want to read more! :D It's a great way to motivate myself to read more. I am so looking forward to joining another readathon, because I think it's also a good way to start reading the books on my TBR pile - which are starting to collect dust (and more dust). Okay, so that's it for my report - I look forward to reading the other participants' report :)) Now I have to go and write my reviews for the books I've read :) Bye!
Talk about book boyfriend from the giver quartet series, at first i love Jonas. Who wouldn't? But after finishing Messenger, i love Matty the most.
ReplyDeleteI can see you enjoy your readathon so much, they're good books aren't they?
Yess, I also love Matty ♥♥
DeleteVery good books indeed ;)))
