Reading: Gulliver's Travels

CURRENTLY reading

i was looking for something interesting to read in my bookshelves, and then i came across this book! :)  actually, i've seen the movie Gulliver's Travels starring Jack Black; and i have to admit it was very funny! before watching the movie, i didn't know that it started with a book written by Jonathan Swift. when i saw this book in the bookstore, i was so curious how the real story is written and decided to buy it :) now here i am, sitting with this book next to me, going to go on an adventure to meet the Lilliputs :)
so here's the blurb :)
'I felt something alive moving on my left Leg ... when bending my eye downwards as much as I could, I perceived it to be a human Creature not six inches high
Shipwrecked and cast adrift, Lemuel Gulliver wakes to find himself on Lilliput, an island inhabited by little people, whose height makes their quarrels over fashion and fame seem ridiculous. His subsequent encounters - with the crude giants of Brobdingnag, the philosophical Houyhnhnms and brutish Yahoos - give Gulliver new, bitter insights into human behaviour. Swift's savage satire views mankind in a distorted hall of mirrors as a diminished, magnified and finally bestial species, presenting us with an uncompromising reflection of ourselves.
i hope my English skills will be sufficient to fully understand this book! :>
and so.. welcome to Lilliput :)
i might also be doing a Movie Adaptation review for this one after i got my hands on the DVD :)
bye for now ;)
